###-  HapMap SNPs to be genotyped -###

These are dbSNP reference SNP clusters, or unique SNPs, from dbSNP 
build 115, mapped to the human genome assembly  build 33 (Apr'03)
and selected to be genotyped by HapMap collaborators, along with their 
flank-neighbor SNPs in dbSNP. See Docs section of DCC website
for details on how the SNPs were selected and descriptions
of the various categories.

  In addition, the *QC* files are a set of ~1500 SNP selected at 
random for use in quality control efforts, plus their flank-neighbors.
These 1500 will be genotyped by all genotyping groups and the results
compared (the so-called 'bake-off').

  The XML-documents  conform to the HapMap schema, as referred 
to in the root-level XML element in each file. See Docs section
of website for more information on the current revision of the 
schema.

  Note the different arrangement of datafiles in this release: each chromosome
SNP-set is divided into four files; one for new records since the last
release (see old/ subdir for previous releases), a second file for updated 
records and a third for records that have been deleted from the Hapmap
SNP collection. The fourth (not always applicable) contains SNP records that 
are not changed in any way since last release; i.e. they even have the same
genomic location as in the last build. Together the three file types (new,
upd and unch) constitute a complete release.

  The following table shows SNP counts by chromosome, further broken down
by the update|new|delete|unch categories. Please note that the grand total is
a bit higher than the actual number of SNPs, as a small portion of the
SNPs in this collection map twice to the genome assembly and are therefore
counted twice:
